The work in this exhibition has been made with an array of cameras ranging from the motion eye of the latest laptop computer to inexpensive fixed focus cameras. The word moblog, a contraction of "mobile phone log", refers to pictures that are casual, unprofessional, or candid in character that document aspects of contemporary life. The exhibit includes work by some of the most exciting new media artists in Canada and internationally, many of whom maintain a connection to the city of Guelph. This is the first exhibition in Ontario to gather the reflections of image-makers at different stages of their careers around a vernacular photographic practice.
